BEFORE

1: Set yourself apart from the rest of the group using “YOU as the Employee Solution (YES)”
Everyone in the room will have technical skills. What will set you apart are your personal effectiveness skills and how you communicate them. Doing so is as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Think of a talent or a skill you possess (are you a team builder, detail oriented, highly flexible, etc.).
2. Think of a time when that skill helped you in an IT or any other project.
3. Connect that to the benefit you provided by using that skill, then put them all together.

Gleanings

From the June event…

You just never know what might happen … although the interviews held after the June SagePresence workshop at Century College, were mock interviews, intended only to give attendees practice in their new interview strategy, one participant impressed an interviewer with his interpersonal abilities and was asked to go to the company for an official job interview. “He was just the type of person we want working for us,” said the volunteer interviewer.

BRAIN TEASER

A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in. What should have he said?
